Poetry : The Latest Manhattan Craze

Reborn, like novels
when we awake,
too many things
watch your back,
black-crowned chemistry,
join to a surface,
collect movements,
one way, too many
things leave my body unattractive,
sweeter than playing safely
with arms out
and knees melted, only
if for one night,
in full delirium,
brutal, encouraging sometimes.

Collected, special and
too many ideas reborn,
like novels, fully good, fully brutal,
encouraging –
sometimes
when we
awake, they’re not playing
chemistry, but they armor
gentle beauty to a surface watch
encouraging –
too many things,
people, culture, cinema, trade
and we’ll look reborn,
like novels
we’ll join to a surface,
like chemistry,
with ours arms out to a pretty girl

often looking to too many things,
sometimes deeply,
sometimes too deeply.
